‘Salon de Verano’ is BETA’s yearly group exhibition, featuring works from ten international artists, which offers a glimpse into the diverse practices and talents represented by our gallery. The exhibition includes artists already in the gallery’s roster as well as new talents making their debut with us. Each artist presents several pieces, showcasing their unique approaches to media such as painting, textile arts, and installation.
‘Salon de Verano’ focuses on the evolution of each artist's practice, highlighting their conceptual concerns and creative processes. It offers a snapshot of Barcelona's contemporary art scene, with local artists taking center stage alongside their international counterparts from Germany, Portugal, and Australia.
Despite the varied media and concepts, the artists are united by the community BETA fosters, bridging connections between Barcelona, Berlin, and other global art hubs. The exhibition captures the diverse conceptual concerns of the BETA roster, from intimate representations of identity and familial and cultural histories, to abstraction and the exploration of form and texture.
The exhibition provides an annual review of the gallery's evolving program. As a platform for both seasoned and emerging artists, ‘Salon de Verano’ illustrates the breadth of BETA’s curatorial vision, and emphasizes the gallery’s commitment to fostering artistic dialogue. This year’s selection features artists at various stages of their careers, creating a diversity of artistic positions that reflect the complex and multifaceted nature of today’s art world.
With ‘Salon de Verano’, we aim to highlight our gallery’s identity, encouraging interaction between different artistic expressions and communities. It is a celebration of our established artists, such as Carlos Herraiz, Miriam Dema, Jan Vallverdú, Zachary Craig and Valentina Schumacher, and introduces new talents like Laia García, Odilia Suanzes, Madison Tyrell, Fernando Loyola, Pedro Batista, and Julia Adolphs.
