BETA is pleased to present LOOKING FOR CLOVERS, the debut solo exhibition of Madison Tyrell’ with the gallery. Born and raised in the lush green of Vancouver, Canada, and now residing in Barcelona’s Raval, Tyrell has spent her life as an attentive observer. Searching to catch a glimpse of the ethereal, hidden moments the natural world creates - the moment when memory, space, and time slip, falter, and the seams of reality start to thin. Her paintings are where these moments live on, suspended between reality and the unseen.

Tyrell’s work exists and thrives in the liminal. In her paintings, space relinquishes its hold on the physical and moves into the spiritual. The work blurs the edges between the perceived and the hidden, as figures and structures appear half-formed, like echoes reaching through the seams - sensations extending between self and other, gathering into a world of considered
reflections.

The result of three years of searching, ‘Looking for Clovers’ transforms nature into spiritual terrain and painting into a devotional, sacred practice. This exhibition asks the viewer to inhabit this mental space, if only for a moment, to step outside of themselves, away from the noise, the pressure, and spend some time looking for the clover.
